Some help with PS3 network and UPnP

    Ok,

just bought myself a PS3 the other day. Splendid.

However, I'm having some network issues. Using a Mac I have installed a prog called Eyeconnect which allows me to stream content over UPnP.

When I first installed it everything showed up fine but now it's completely random. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I have assigned the PS3 its own IP which shows up on the Mac once the PS3 is on.

However, if I check the network status it often shows UPnP as 'not available'. Then it will just start working for no reason that I can gather.

The other issue is with the PS3 network. I can sometime sign in but most of the time I can't. It just fails to connect, but I can always get web pages and sign into the playstation store.

If I do the connection test it checks for the IP address, gets that, then fails at the PS3 network part.

I have no idea why some of it works and some of it doesn't.

I'm using a Linksys router with NTL (6mb) as my ISP and connecting wirelessly with the PS3. It says it's NAT type 2 on the connection status.

Does anyone have any hints/tips/ideas about how I can make all of it work all of the time?!

    Thanks.
