I've installed a belkin wireless card in a pc i've just bought.

It's being recognised as a broadcom card (?) and Vista won't allow me to run the Belkin utility.

However, Vista reports that wireless networking is available and does show all the available networks. Our network is visible with full strength reception.

I click to connect, it asks me for the password, I enter it but it won't connect.

When I click diagnose the problem it says there's nothing wrong.

    Wtf??

    The password is definitely right.

    This is a strange one.

    My guess:

Be sure that the drivers for the wireless card are vista ready.

It’s possible the off the shelf version with the disk might only be up to xp, you may have download some more recent ones from there website.

Whats the full model of the wireless card

    Hey Whatsthisabout,

Weird indeed. It's a Belkin Wireless G+ pci card. Went to http://www.belkin.com/uk/support/article/?lid=enu&pid=F5D7000uk&aid=6199&scid=0 and installed the matching drivers after uninstalling and removing the card.

Reinstalled card, used Belkin drivers and bang - Vista kept crashing and slowed to a crawl.

So removed card and everything's fine again.

What's the lesson here - Vista's a piece of sh*t and so are the Belkin drivers.
