Im 31 and and unemployed. I dont know what to do. Will I ever be able to have a decent life. I am educated but no degree. I am an all rounder and it so frustrating not being able to get work. I am good with all things technical. I want to move home to to my home town (not in Dublin) but I fear Ill never be able to. If I cant get a job in Dublin how the hell will I ever get a job at home.
Ive never had a career, just had jobs to earn a bit of money. Now at 31 I realize how foolish Ive been not to work hard towards a goal.

Im actually shaking with fear, panicking, tapping, fast heart rate. Time is going too fast for me. I feel very lazy, cant motivate myself. Constantly searching the web for Jobs. Maybe I should start my own business in something. I dont want to go back to college.

Ive posted similar threads like this before, it seems no matter what anyone says to me, things will not change.

    Please help.

it sounds like its time to start getting professional advice. i reckon it couldnt do any harm to go and get some career guidance. it isnt that expensive and you will learn a bit about yourself like your strengths, your weakness, what areas you might be good in, etc. they will get you to do a few personality tests and things like that and in the end you should have an idea of what kind of direction you should be going in. once you know that you can start setting yourself some goals to work towards and before you know it you will be on a career path. i think some of them will even help you put together a CV.

i used to know a guy who waas a director of one of the big recruitment agencies in dublin. i havent seen him in years but recently i saw an article about him the paper as he has set up a new company that do this sort of thing. i will look and see if i still have the article and if i do i will put up the link to his company. it would be worth it to try and get some direction..

your other option is to start a FAS course. you will get good experience from the course and you will get paid while you are doing it. but the only problem is when you finish those courses you sometimes have to start at the bottom when going into a company which means you will probabloy be on a low salary starting out. but it will get you moving towards where you need to be.

Osborne recruitment are great, they're really supportive & well worth making an appointment with.
Think about what you enjoy doing, what qualifications you have, where you see yourself in 5 years time, what you'd like to work at. Be serious about it. You might not be able to enter a company at the level you'd like but enter a company where you can grow your career.. even if it will take a few years at least you're started and you know where you want to go! :)
    Best of luck anyway. :)
