New Comp Needed!

I know you probably get a ton fo these requests, but please bear with me, I'll try and be as informative as possible.

I need a new tower for my PC - I have the old monitor. Basically every shop I've checked is pushing Vista, but I'm using the PC pretty much solely for music recording. Which means I need an OS that'll support my XP hardware, and that has about 2GB of ram.

I've been cruising the Dell site for an XP OS. Does this look like a decent enough offer?

Bit expensive, €80 extra for xp pro

Go with the Dell Vostro range, they are cheaper and give you xp pro free, higher spec pc too...

Wow! Uhmmm this is capable of doing everything I need? I actually ordered a Vostro laptop for my dads birthday, was excellent value too. This looks almost too good to be true! What's the catch?

Can I ask what the E Value thing does or where that number's from?

Pc is perfect for your needs imo, maybe a bigger hard drive than 160gb depending on how much storage you need, Dell's uprgade prices are ridiculous...

So I would keep that spec and put in a another hard drive yourself, you can pick up a 500gb internal hard drive for €72 or get an external one for €86
