Cleaning my laptop screen?

I've never cleaned the screen of my laptop in the year and a half that I've had it. It's pretty filthy at this stage.....I'm just not sure what kind of cloths etc that I should use to clean it? Will a damp J-cloth be OK? Or is there a special cleaner , cloth etc? Sorry if I sound a prat but I'm worried about damaging it.

Use a micro-fibre cloth and a non-alcohol based cleaning agent. You can get one in PC World/Harveys/DID (brand: Monster or Fellowes)

dont use anything like toilet paper/kitchen roll etc as it will leave little fiber's on it and they are next to impossible to get off.

LCD / TFT wipes from any computer store. Had them in aldi some weeks back for 2.99, may be still available.

Aldi wipes: I swear by them. Great for any dirt on the surface of your lappy.
