I have a dell Laptop an Inspiron 2200. Now it was working fine, i would use it ever second say untill the other day i went to start it, the Dell logo came up, then the BIOS progress bar then it paused for a minute then a grey screen with Dell.com on the top and it said underneath "The device in the system modular bay cannot be intentified. It may not be completely inserted or may hav somoe other problem. Please read and complete tthe following steps in order:
    1) press the device completely and firmly into the bay
    2) Power off the system
3)Press the power button to retry detecting the device

Press ESC to ignore error and continue. "
So removed the HD and inserted, no luck, i then thought the the HD was the problem, until i got an exterenal hard drive adapter and the hard drive was ok. The pluged it back into the laptop, and it booted up fine. Then powered it off, and then power it on again and i am back to square 1. It doesn't find no bootable devices. In the Setup Utility, the boot up sequence is Diskette, Internal HDD.
Can any one shead some light on my problem. Thanking you in advance.
    Kevin
