Right, after seeing Flair and HBK last week. Who does everyone think certain wrestlers should face for their retirement matches?

I think Undertakers last match should be with Kane, & vice versa.

Taker vs Kane should be a definite
HBK to face HHH is another certain

    Shawn Michaels. All of them

I'm only half joking. Every wrestler would want to go out with a good match and they're almost guaranteed that with Shawn. With some guys it'd be nice to see them put over a younger wrestler in their last match, but I can't think who yet because I don't think any wrestlers are going to be retiring soon

I suppose Sting's time will be up soon, it'd be nice to see AJ Styles beat him and then turn face

I can see why Kane would retire Undertaker (or vice versa). But that would be a match needing an immense build, to put Kane back on a level with taker.

HBK getting reitred by Triple H makes sense, but to have it done by somebody like Randy Orton (the legend killer) would make me much happier.

I am a big fan of Matt Hardy and MVP's feud, and think its one of the few memorable feuds from the past year. It is the one that has cemented in my mind Matt Hardy as potentially being a top star for years to come over the heavyweight championship. Hopefully the two will feud again in the future on and off, in the same way Rock and Austin did.

Sweet Jesus I don't need to see that again for the 800th time. Maybe I'd give it the go ahead for Kane but not 'Takers last match. He deserves better.

It's a hard question to answer because you don't know when people will exactly retire and who will be around when they decide to.

For example in 5 years time, if Shawn Michaels were to retire I'd like him to face somebody who might be considered the "New Shawn Michaels" but he mightn't be in the company yet or even be wrestling currently.

In saying that I'd book a storyline to have Edge retire Matt Hardy, just because it would amuse me and be a fitting end to the Hardy character in some ways. In saying that, it would be a pretty good way to launch a Hardy push!

I think ye'r being a bit harsh on Kane. Firstly, Kane held his own against Taker on Smackdown. He's one of those guys that can be built up in the blink of an eye. He was chosen to feud with Edge before the injury, after a period of being completely stagnant in the mid card level. And fans didn't balk at the idea.

Secondly, Kane and Taker work well together. They're old hands, but safe hands. And its not like we'd be seeing a rehash of their early feud, given that Taker has evolved so much since then.

I'd pick both of them to go out at the same time, each retiring the other. The story is simple and could practically write itself, but would be fueled by the history of both men.

Its only really possible to speculate on those that seem close to retirement now. I wouldn't like to speculate on retirement matches beyond the likes of Kane, Taker, HBK, Finlay, Regal, and maybe HHH and Rey Mysterio(I wonder how long he can continue to do what he does).

If Austin is to have his last match at next years Mania, I would like it to be against Taker. They had a great feud in the late 90's. They could dub it a loser retires for good match or something. Of course we would all know the outcome with Taker getting the win but those who aren't in on the whole internet wrestling rumours scene would eat it up. Sure regardless of who wins, that would be a match I would like to see.

Did the Rock not hint at the HoF that he might be open to the idea of one more bout with Austin?

Ah sure Austin fought the Rock at XV, XVII and XIX. I think a match against Taker at XV would suit me nicely especially if I'm gonna be there.

Point 1 that you made, how do you mean he held his own with 'Taker on Smackdown? I tried to watch it and couldn't last 4 minutes. It was not good. It never is.

I don't hate Kane. To me though he's ceased to be a relevant money player since 2003 when they did the whole unmasking. And before that he was as stale as old bread for at least 2 years.

Point 2- I have only see them work 1 match where they worked well together (and thats over 10 years!) and that was the Inferno match in '98 and even then the whole "fire " concept thing might be making me over rate the match.

I've never thought after seeing them wrestle "Boy, I can't wait to see them wrestle again".

Point 3- Your point that it's a simple story to make if they played upon the history of both men. Sweet Jesus, if they played upon the history of the 2 of them, it would be the most complicated storyline ever between burning families, choke slamming people onto graves to 10 years later doing polite chain wrestling.

To be honest if you were to go with the historical route, I'd rather they gave Mick Foley 6 moths preparation time and have him and 'Taker work either of each others last match.

That was really chemistry in the ring and there would be a new dimension to it in that Mick Foley could play Mick Foley and not Mankind.

    or Taker V Michaels.

I want to see these two feud again before they retire. How about Taker defeating Michaels at Wrestlemania sending him into retirement :pac:

As much as i bought it at the time, as the time goes on i'm realising Mr Johnson just said alot of things to make the fans happy, i'm not surehow much of it he actually meant or believed himself

Rock and Austin is a given, that would add a few hundred thousand ppvs buys alone especially if it was both mens last match, doesnt matter who wins the crowd would eat it up

Taker and HBK, they tore the house down at the end and beginning of the last 2 rumbles and havent feuded since 1997, time to let them at it again

HHH and Orton, yes they've feuded a half dozen times before but ending Trippers career would make Orton a megastar

I think that HBK vs. the Rock is more likely if they could get a programme out of him. Rocky said he regretted not having a proper programme with HBK, I don't think anybody would have a problem with having the Rock end their career and although Trips would have a massive claim to be HBK's last opponent, he'd probably let that one go because HBK Rock would be so good for business.

Think Cena would be a good man to end Hogan's career. A passing the torch moment.

Orton or Batista to finish of Trips

Orton to finish Edge off if they can't get Christian

    Kurt to finish of Sting

    Tomko to retire Nash

MVP or Jeff to finish of HBK is something that could work big time and for some reason the idea of Val Venis retiring Hogan for good seems fitting.
