On-board in a Legend around Mondello

Well last weekend we ran our 1st race with the Legends in Mondello.
Even though there were only 2 of us out we had a great battle!
We ran on the back of the Global grid because they too need rolling starts.

Legends are one of the cheapest for of motorsport available in Ireland and we're hoping for some nice grids for the 2009 season.

Anyone who doesn't know what a Legend is you can visit: http://www.600racing.co.uk or http://www.600racing.com

All we had to do all weekend was put fuel in the car. All spare parts are dirt cheap and you only have to change tyres once a season (i believe you can actually get up to 2 seasons out of a set!).

As you'll see in the vids it's got quite a lively backend, mostly caused by the rock hard tyres. But when you try put 130BHP to the ground with a locked diff and a car that only weighs 600kg (inc. driver) it tends to move around a little!

We will have 4 cars out the next day and the UK Championship is coming to Mondello on the 7th & 8th of June. There will be spectacular racing at that, i guarantee it!

Looks lairy enough in the wet, just the way I like it.

What sort of times were you getting in the dry?

They do 1:05's in the dry.
In a straight line they are as quick as a global it's just the lack of grip that slows the laptime considerably.

I was watching a few of the legends testing two weeks ago. Not bad little things but I thought they were doing better times than 1:05`s. Our Vee`s are a good 3-4 seconds quicker than that.
    No not faster than 1:05.
The cars are only new and we haven't do any setup work yet so i'm confident of getting to low 1:04's.
Your Vee is a single seater.... So one would expect it to be a lot quicker.

We're not due out again in Mondello until Late May i think.

Missed this topic earlier in the week.
See my thread up further for on-board vids.
I certainly enjoyed the weekend more than i ever have in any other racing car, had some savage races!
Can't wait for Angelsea in a few weeks! We should have another Irish round in Mondello in July, hoping to have 5, maybe 6 Irish cars out for that.
