Glasgow Prestwick to Edinburgh

Ryanair have started a Cork to Glasgow flight so I've booked a flight to there but I am actually going to Edinburgh.

What I'm wondering is: Is there a direct bus service to Edinburgh from the airport or do I have to make my way into Glasgow city?

I was there 2 weekends ago....no there is no direct service. You can take the train from Prestwick to Glasgow Central Station and then you should walk out of the station and 10 minutes from there there is another Station where you can take the train to Edinburgh.....the service is very frequent, so it will be pretty straight forward for you to get there. Enjoy!

Dont bother with a bus, train is the way to go. As was said above, best bet is get train from Prestwick to Glasgow Central, then out the door, 5-10 min walk to Queen Street Station and take the Edinburgh train from there. They are usually every 15 mins. There are trains from Central - Edinburgh too but only 1 every 1-2 hours.

There used to be a reduction on the train tickets if you showed your flight boarding card - check it out.
