smell of smoke

    Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me please.I left a pot on a hob and left the house for two hours ( big mistake)When I got back the house was full of smoke and now I can't get rid of the smell.Air freshners only cover it but it comes back.Is there any other thing that will absorb the smell or will fresh air clear it in the end

    Your going to have to wash the walls, ceilings, soft furnishings, everything. :( Its the only thing to get rid of it. Did the saucepan have black bakelite handles? If so, the smell of them burning is awful.

    Thats it exactly, there is an odour eating paint which can be got but smoke is a dog to get rid of.
