    just caught the end of this on Joe Duffy and didnt grasp it.....

    they ran a competition for a €50K wedding and made the couples do a video and stuff and then people had to vote using premium phone numbers and texts??? and then probably fixed it???

    someone explain.......

    Saw it on the news last night.

    There was a public vote and that went one way. Then there was an interview and the final decision was made by the judges.

    It didn't say on the news whether people had to pay to vote or what and I think that's what makes the difference. If it was free to vote, it's up to them who they pick, but if they're making money out of it, then just picking whoever anyway, that's bad.

    Frigging Joe Duffy though, why do spanners always ring him when something goes against them, he'll hype it up to the bloody last.

    This is more of a newsy thread than a wedding thread though. :)
