Gonna be travelling around europe for a bit this summer and was thinking of bringing along something like a little Martin Backpacker. Anyone played one or know anywhere that has them in stock around Dublin?

The martin one is nice but its pretty expensive. The cort copycat of the martin is a good option but the best value of all is the baby tenson.

Given the probability of it being damaged lost stolen or traded for hookers and beer I'd go cheap on it. Why bother splashing out on a Martin to lug around? You'd be left minding the thing all the time.

It's a travel guitar and its not that expensive. A cheap SX baby acoustic from waltons was gonna cost me €150 so why not go for the martin (€400 on thomann) for an extra €50 or so. A mate brought his baby taylor backpacking with him for 2 months and he said it was fine and it came home safely as well. I should be grand for the month. Dont want to spend €150 on a piece of junk that I wont even like playing

I have a Martin Backpacker if you're interested. Nylon strings, pretty much in mint condition. Got it in NYC around '99, still have the invoice. Haven't touched in years though, and it's dying a slow, lonely death.:(

Haven't thought of a price, but it wouldn't be much (compared to buying price). If you're interested I'll check it and will come up with a price.
PM me or reply if interested.

    What about a 6 string uke? :)
Nice and small and you can get them in steel string too!
    Save you some space.
