    meh, nothing major really.

Arrived in a around 12 on a Sat night a while back to play the nl game the floor man said he wasnt running it yet as he was short on dealers but when the ft of the tourney finished up he would spread the game if I wanted to wait. Four left in the tourney so I decide to wait but dont bother getting in the 1/2 game as I didnt feel like playing all the shorties. An hour later the tourney finishes up and instead of spreading the nl game the floor adds another 1/2 game, I raised an objection and was told the list was too long for the 1/2 so he was spreading that. That was annoying so then I say fair enough stick me in the 1/2 game and he says I have to go on the list for it, which is at this point about 20 names long with all the pubs turning out etc.

Anyways long story short I didnt think that was acceptable so put up an argument, the manager was called and he basically told me to either put up with it or get out, that annoyed me so I told him I wanted compensation for the hour of my life that had just been wasted and at that point I was told to get out or he was calling the guards.

You cant argue with his logic. The NL game got going about 1AM . You could have waited.

It did? Not sure what time i left that night, but i'm pretty sure it was after 1am and there was no NL table going.

In relation to what happened. There was a full list of players waiting for the NL game, long before the 20 player PL list even started. Nearly all the players on the NL list (including myself) were seated at the PL tables so there'd have been little trouble starting the game.

If MrPT has been barred because of his reaction (and i'd be surprised if they did), then it's total joke, as while he was loud in arguing, he didn't get out of line or get agressive at any point.

As a neutral, not knowing either you or MrPT, it was a joke, was there well before he came in, and imo there was no sense not having a NL game for a few simple reasons:

    1. There were enough players in PL games to take out and start NL and enough people waiting to fill these now empty seats in PL.

    2. Guy who was standing behind desk(don't know his name), did say that he would get it going after tournament.

    3. In the long run, it will affect the poker room, i.e last saturday - wat tine did it start and was it full?

Now while the SE clearly dont have poker players as their number 1 concern(many times i've seen here or heard that its being closed with a day or less notice), they probably should @ least keep you regulars happy.

Anyone interested in buying one of my tickets for Saturday's game? Am I right in thinking that €530 would be a fair price? (haven't bought or sold tickets since the glory days of the Fitz freerolls)

Can you not hold onto it til the following month....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,307 ✭✭✭ionapaul

Sure I plan to win another couple of tickets next month... :) Nah, I will sell the 2nd ticket probably as €550 is more than I want to spend on a monthly game to be honest, with all the good sub-€300 options in Dublin. Might as well lock in some profit from these satellites - SOLD IT

I see the dinner break is 20 minutes, so is it actually a dinner put on, or finger food. Bit expensive for finger food, ie €50 reg.

Otherwise the structure looks great and I might make my way in.

I asked last night Ollie - I was told the food 'most likely' would be better than the usual sandwiches and fried crap, but no dinner :(
