Help me out please, brothers. I haven't had a film night in a long time and am looking for something good. American Classic Movies had the Deathwish series on over the weekend but I ended up missing a few of them, have since ordered the lot. Shows us what we should be doing with crime these days instead of pussyfootin' around! Any other suggestions?

N.B-Don't want this in the Film forum as that Karl Hungus lad will shout at me for requesting a listy type thread.

Terminator 3 has to be the funniest film of the lot. T2 is probably the best of the bunch.

Can't beat the Die Hard series either.

And oddball this - One Night at McCools. Lots of famous faces, utterly enjoyable, though somewhat quirky.

The Pod Race in The Phantom Menace is better than the fight when Luke destroys the Death Star.

Padmé is better than Leia.

Darth Maul is a great Sith, fantastic.

And don't forget, the Ewoks :rolleyes: Worse than Jar-Jar Binks imo.

So while I agree the Original Trilogy is better, the newer three are not without their charms.

Saw that on tv recently, didn't like it at all and switched off half way through. Liv Tyler looks great in it though.

Another for my list, Tremors. Everything that a classic B-movie should be except it wasn't made in the 50s.

Thanks for the suggestions, the auld credit card will take a whack but all in good fun. A good few Westerns on over the next few days. Cool Hand Luke and The Hustler as well. Love those classics and prefer them to much of the modern stuff.

Ruu, its got to be 'The quiet Man', a true man's movie, where John WAyne shows us exactly how to treat the wimmins. What other move has such a classic quote as 'would ye like fine stick to beat the young lady sir?'

fave line outta OBWAT is when Everett is trying to purchase a tub of Dapper Dan and gets frustrated cos it takes 2 weeks to have any stock delivered to the store:

Okay, so it is a television miniseries, but it beats most, if not all, war films. Find your groove in the couch, get a nice big bottle for storing urine, a suitable supply of snacks and beer, turn off the lights, turn up the sound, and watch all 10 hours straight.

Changing DVDs might be a problem mind you. It'd prevent any chance of deep vein thrombosis though.

Just try not to get too emotional at the end, if you can.
