A Few Questions

    Hi Guys,
I know all of these questions have been answered before....and I did search for similar threads but I feel that I will get better answers if I ask these questions about my specific circumstances. I'm naturally very skinny and I've always been very self conscious about it. I've been trying on and off for the last few years to improve this.

For the last 6 months or so Ive been going to the gym rarely with, unsurprisingly, little to show for it. My patterns were erratic where I basically just visited the machines and played around with dumbbells and such.

Well, at the weekend I purchased a dumbbell and barbell set with weights of 35KG. Im hoping that I can mainly just use these in my weight gaining routine...will they be enough? Obviously I plan on buying heavier weights as I progress.
Also I'm strongly thinking about getting some sort of supplement for weight gain/muscle gain. Which would be the best to go for?

Sorry about the long, drawn out nature of the post..thanks a lot for any replies!

To get big: lift heavy things and eat LOTS of food!

Post up your diet if you want some feed back but 9 times out of ten the reason the skinny guys are skinny is coz they are not eating anywhere near enough!

    Sorry should have posted it earlier...was in a hurry. Im 19, 10 stone..about 5.9/10 I think..
    My diet..hmmm..well I'll try.
Breakfast - Muisli/Weetabix, Yogurt, Fruit, Toast...depends. Always a cereal though.

Lunch - This is bad. Because Im in college at lunchtime 3 out of the 7 days a week...its chips/sausages/beans those days. If Im at home its crackers, patte & a toasted sandwich with tuna/ham, cheese and onion. Fruit/yogurts as well. Either that or pasta and a sauce.

Dinner - Anything and everything. All healthy enough in the traditional sense - Chicken & Vegtables, Mince and Potatos, Salmon and salad, Spaghetti Bolognese...etc..

Then later on I might have Pasta or something..depending on how late I had dinner.

Then snacks during the day - Crackers, Fruit...the odd crisps/popcorn/chocolate...not loads though.

Just eat everything on that list!!

Try to eat maybe six or seven smaller meals... for example, at 8am, 10.30am, 1pm, 3.30pm, 6pm *workout* 9pm, and 11pm

Avoid fried or processed food, and junk food - basically use your head. Doesn't have to be mega clean, but make an effort to keep it decent, while making it enjoyable.

Try Starting Strength as a program to start off with.

Don't bother with shakes yet, just get your protein from chicken, tuna, milk (winner!), other dairy, other meats (red meat is good for growth). Try porridge in the morning - I hate it, but have found it nicer when its uncooked (let it soak for a while) and with choc milk. I know some will no-no the choc milk but if you're looking to bulk, its fine (in my opinion).
