Definitely Friday. TV spots have been running for it, and all say Friday 11th.

Gamestop on henry st are doing a midnight release if your really desparate, but it should be in all stores friday morning. i think i seen an official wii wheel in HMV henry st. you get one with the game for no extra cost which is fairly decent.

well they have made 3rd party versions of the wii wheel for other driving games so you could always pick up one of them!

I heard you get a free wheel with the game alright...just remains to be seen if they will be mysteriously "out of stock" on Friday...I don't trust Irish retailers!

Beware, the canadian version is NSTC and unless you also got your Wii from Canada or have modded/chiped it, a Canadian Mario Kart wont work on your PAL machine.

    Hey guys,
Just got Mario Kart Wii, anyone know how I get my Mario Kart Wii code so I can tell others what it is? Is it different from the Wii friend code?

    Cheers,
    M

Spent half the night playing this,

Not sure what to make of it,

    The wheel is pretty cool,

It feels nicer than other 3rd party crap that have been released, though thats not surprising with nintendo behind it.

The game just seems slightly hollow compared to previous versions.

The bikes add nothing to be honest, and there is almost too much stuff going on on each track. Its still a great game but I cant seem to figure out what it is that's missing.

Graphically I remember Double Dash as looking better than this, it really is disappointing in this regard after the gorgeous Mario Galaxy. Also the constant noises coming from the wiimote start to wreck your head, and i didnt find see any option to disable them. Every time a red/blue shell is incoming you get a very annoying beeping sound to warn you for example.

I guess the fact it kept us up half the night playing multiplayer can only be a good thing but cant help feeling a little disappointed, and can see myself offloading my wii soon. I was holding out for this game, but there's nothing coming up now that would make me want to keep it.

Cousin in America sent it to me....

Is the Wii friend code different to the codes for SSBB and Mario Kart Wii?

I love it so far, really want to get some friends added so I can play them.

    Cheers,
    M

you should be able to turn the volume off by pressing the home button on the Wiimote and then going to Wii Remote settings.

really can't wait to play this game.

It's not released in America yet.

It's actually released in Europe two weeks before America....

And yes, the Wii code is different to the friend codes you would get with Smash bros and Mario Kart. Each game has a different code.
