    Hi all

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, mods feel free to move it if necessary.

Anyway i'm planning on formatting my IBM thinkcentre and putting everything back on it. It's running very slow even though there's no viruses or spyware or anything on it that i can find anyway. Tried every thing i know of to speed it up but it's not happening so think a clean format will work a treat. Question is does anyone know if i need to get all the drivers before i start or will Xp find them itself, didn't get a recovery disc or anything with the computer.

    Thanks in advance

You should be able to download all the drivers from the IBM website. Burn them onto a CD and then start your format and reinstall process. Windows will install with the basic drivers, you can then install the specific drivers from the CD you burnt.

Have you tried the diagnostic utility (F11 on startup , IIRC) which is usually on a hidden partition on IBM lappies ? Might save you the hassle of a format/reinstal . It might not but worth a look , i'd guess ....
