Anyone else following this over the past few weeks.

I hope it doesnt turn into a flop with a finalist being not allowed to fight because he picked up a nick and then a sub coming in and winning it.

Anyway we have Big Marty Rogan and Colin Kenna fighting. Might put a couple of quid on Marty.

I missed the draw for the first round on Soccer AM (because my chauffer was outside waiting to bring me and the future Mrs.Sligobhoy to the grand national - thats another showoff story) but its seems that the three favourites (David Dolan, Marty and Colin) all avoided each other - was the draw seeded?

Will you watch it? How do you see it going?

    The Heavyweight Prizefighter Quarter-Final Draw

Bout 1 Dave Ferguson vs Billy Bessey
Bout 2 Alex Ibbs vs Martin Rogan
Bout 3 Paul Butlin vs Colin Kenna
Bout 4 Darren Morgan vs David Dolan

The winners of bouts 1 and 2 will meet in the first semi-final with the winners in bouts 3 and 4 meeting in the second semi with the winners of those contests meeting in the grand final. The winner will be declared on the night.

whats the story with the stand -in's????
They'll probably really throw bombs at each other for the short distance fights, I can see a few cuts or whatever.

how long is each fight ?..is it 3 rounds long ?

Ibbs isnt unbeaten , he lost his last fight .
If Dolan can avoid being bombed out by Morgan he'll be the clear favourite, but as pointed out Kenna and Morgan have a decent shout .

    The bouts are 3x3 .

The quality of the fights are not that good but there is some exciting fights(more exciting than some heavyweight fights i've watched recently).Dolan looks to have that bit of quality and fitness needed to win..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,676 ✭✭✭The Artist

well well poor dolan pity.He fought well, his jabs, uppercuts, speed was brill.Rogon was pretty cut up by head collisions but i find rogan a dirty fighter.Dolan was down on the first round but picked up,stunded and ok.Second round was a belter and dolan won that round.Third round dolan down again still trying to continue and he did!Rogan won from the knockdowns of dolan. If it was a 6 rounder i think dolan would have knocked rogan out!

Well done Martin Rogan........the whole night i taught was great excitement and the final was very entertaining........i was on the edge of my seat really shoutin for Rogan to do it.

Dolan is good but seems a bit small for heavy weight.
