Just purchased a Philips HTS6510. The cable for the subwoofer may be too short for where I want to put it. It looks like a high-grade speaker cable. Can I cut, join and extend this? Will that affect sound quality? Where can I get this cable (assuming it's it's a higher spec than standard speaker cable?)?

Some info on the system purchased in Power City for €289, a lot cheaper than anywhere else I've seen it.

Is the SW cable like an rca style cable or standard speaker wire?

If so you can buy longer lengths.

TBH not seeing the system or knowing fully about its connection methods, since most of these systems use easy to connect plug in connections, I wouldnt be fully sure.

Thanks Sparky-s. It's 2-core cable with clear coating. It just looks like speaker cable, if a little thicker tbh. There's a female plug on the end of it with a male socket on the DVD.
