FC Twin

Oh hai. So today I have come into the ownership of an FC Twin console. The machine can play both 8-bit NES and 16-bit SNES titles. It's a nice looking machine and there are few issues with it except that it doesn't accept NES controllers (so no Duckhunt with Zapper) and the sound for the NES games can be a little off at times because the FC Twin relates music in stereo not like the NES's mono output. Also it's only built to play NTSC games from Japan/America. It can't play PAL titles.

I've tried out all my NES and SNES games and they work fine. They're a few games that don't work at all, I think the list is on Wikipedia. It's a pretty cool buy if you don't have the space for the other machines and are tired switching machines and getting stuff from boxes and plugging it all in. Mine cost me $50 Canadian.

I should mention that this isn't an official Nintendo product. So I'll understand if a Moderator should wish to lock and delete this thread. I'm not promoting this product in anyway. I just think it's pretty cool and something you might not see in Ireland.

Here's a pic if your wondering what I'm talking about -

The pirates really ruin this forum, any other games forum would lock any of these R4 and so on threads long ago (and come off it, we know why you're buying your R4 etc).

Talking about the R4 on this forum is allowed, it's on the charter. I own both the NES and Super Nintendo consoles and the games. The games aren't backed-up. However the Moderator may see different.

I don't see why there would be an issue with this, it allows you to simply play the games you already own, unless I'm mistaken.

Nice looking machine though, didn't even know they existed!

    LOL

You're joking, right? This is a really interesting product that allows you to play original copies of games. It's not in the same league as r4 pirating.

Nice buy CCCP^. I was going to get one of them a little while ago as my Nes is too knackared at this point.

Yeah I've seen these, would be tempted if there was a PAL version (I'm really not that arsed about importing the games).

    re: pirating
The NES patent has stopped been applicable(AFAIK) so that half is fine and Nintendo are losing nothing from the SNES bit as they (apparently) stopped producing the SNES 3 generations ago.

Also if all you think of when you read/hear R4 is "Pirate" then I am sorry I have one and only run homebrew (DSLibris FTW) on it, if I want to play a DS game on my DS I have this money stuff ...

Although the number of R4 et al threads are doing my nut in

It's a great piece of machinery. My Super Nintendo worked fine but my NES was starting to go, and had actually gone - the Pins I'd say. So it's great to be able to play Castlevania I or II whenever I want and not worry about fiddling with a console for half an hour. And it allows me to sell on my NES Action Set with complete box FTW!!!
