Whos the biggest geek on boards?

Two rather geeky boardsies were walking into town when one said, "Where did you get such a great bike?"

The second geek replied, "Well, I was walking along yesterday minding my own business when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike. She threw the bike to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, 'Take what you want.'"

The second geek nodded approvingly, "Good choice. The clothes probably wouldn't have fit."

Obviously there is a fine line between being a geek and having a healthy interest in a particular subject. Obviously the geek will counter that his interest in his particular subject is healthy and nothing to be ashamed of. Pigheads not even sure if being a geek is anything to be ashamed of anymore. Is being geeky cool these days?

Anyway sine Pighead started writing on boards 3 years ago he has furiously scribbled down notes and over the years these notes have turned into something he likes to call "The Geeky Chronicles" Basically its a list of posters who have shown themselves to be a touch geeky on occasion. So heres the list. Feel free to add your own, with reasons attached.

    I see no list.

Edit: Aha, it's a poll, and I'm not on it, sweet.

Damn, missed first post in what should be a good thread.

So are geeks invisible pighead, or is it just that their pasty white complexion gives them a camouflage of sorts?

Well I think geeks are pretty cool. Years ago they were just dorks but these days geek is chic etc.

My vote goes to Sparky-s, the man is a vBulletin genius and all round good guy to boot!

    Geeks FTW! w00t! high five --> o/\o :D

You forgot the "Refers to Himself in the 3rd Person Geek" option.

Pighead also forgot the "We drink in an imaginiary pub and eat imaginary sandwiches cooked by imaginary girls, Geek" option. Could a friendly Mod fix that for Pighead please? Cheers.

MonkeyFudge: Intelligent Geek ... really? Is that how you see him? Don't get me wrong mankeyfudge is a geek and we love him but that is the wrong catagory of geek.

If a level of a man's geekyness is measured on his ability with vbulletin i think the term geek will spread to others like an STI at barrymore's gaff

Pighead was over in politics.ie. It was a monumental week, one that shook the country to its very foundations so wanted to get a serious chat going. All sorted now thanks. Anyway can you think of any more geeks 6th? What about Karl Hungus? Would it be safe to say that he's a Manga Geek?

There aren't that many great geeks on here tbh. Looking at the different forums I have to wonder if some subjects can even have geeks? Ever met a Islam geek?

I'm proud of my membership of the Brotherhood, prefer real beer & food.
    "Food Geek" maybe.

Boards has more Freaks than Geeks.

    Fitness Freaks, Jesus Freaks etc.

    Geek > Freak

What sort of geek is he then? Pighead has never met the monkeyfudge. Just saw a picture of him and with his glasses and cleverposts "Intelligent Geek" seemed to do the job nicely.

What about her "Mr Resident Evil Geek"? Pigheads not surprised you went unreggd for that one. Yore Ma jokes are older than the lovely Beruthial at this stage.

Can we have a Tar Alderon geek option. I don't think it's fair that women can't be labelled as Geeks.

Strange- usually people are running in the oppisate direction when insinuations of being a geek are being bandied about. What this place needs is a bully.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

Be who and want you want, What i laugh at is people who 10+ years ago thought the internet was for "nerds" and now they all use it, but there all older now mid-late 20's.

How much do you actually know about monkeys, and how much do you spend on them a year? :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

I've spent the past 3 years living with monkeys in preparation for a part I'm playing in a new movie called "Monkeys in the Mist"

It's going to be way more awesome than 'Gorillas in the Mist' as the alliteration is better.
