Do they let Riff Raff like us into these events or is purely for people who are professional photogs?

I read the website and it mentions professional and trade people etc. I tried mailing the girl in the contact section of the website and the mail bounced back. I'd like to go along to this.

Well they let Fajitas in to it last year ... and he is just a scrounging student ...

and come to think of it they also let that muppet who runs the photography Ireland site ... sadly this is where I met him first ... when I was introduced to him as a boards member he made some disparaging remark about the people in the boards photography forum and grunted some vague insult at me ... despite the fact that we were complete strangers ... so you'll be slumming it for sure ...

We should make it a boards outing ...

Great idea and we could get badges made saying "boards people are the coolest EVER"

Lets just say some of us have been treated a bit poorly when we tried to post in PI ... for no good reason except the fact that we use boards.ie ... and like I said earlier I am never too impressed with a person who is prepared to insult to a complete stranger on being introduced for the first time ever purely on the basis of where they choose to discuss photography and nothing else ... and leave it at that ...

to be honest I've no issue with people who use PI ... they are the same people who post here for the most part ... just the guy who runs it ...

Edit: ideally it should be a better place to discuss photography ... if it were not for the attitude of some of the mods ...
Say it as it is matey!!
Well, if my memory is clear, you were the one who did the introductions matey ..

I wasn't to sure about this at first but I'm getting a bit more excited about it than I was FOI, and sure we'll have the non-photography meet the weekend before I'm liking April so far.

The Guy Gowan session is usually pretty good to those who have not seen it ... his session at Photofest last year led to us booking our own Boards (and an attempt at inviting PI members) session with him a few months later ...

There is one other good session with Canon on using their Speedlights ..

but no need to fall down to their level. I don't know about you but I just don't have time for it IRL.

photo who? Lets not talk about that :)

I'm kinda thinking of heading to this one, since it's the first time they've done it on a weekend. Leaving the credit card at home...

i wouldn't mind going too - think i might be working tho!
so i'll save a bundle of mullah too and a 200 mile round trip!

on another note i sort of resent that they charge to go in and look at stuff that these companies are trying to flog to us. ok there's a few seminars but really the companies should be subsidising those, in fact they should be giving us something to attend :)
