New user - macbook keyboard

Just recently got my first mac (2.2 MacBook). Still trying to get my head around a few things.

One of the main things that's annoying me is the stupid keyboard it comes with. Some of the keys are really not very responsive at all, and some, for example the y, will only work if you bash down on it.
Anyone else have this issue, or know if there is a solution? Would rather not have to return it to the store, but may have to :(

I'm not a fan of the new keyboards at all, I think they are very unresponsive in general, but if you actually have to bash some keys harder than others then that sounds like a manufacturing defect. I'd ring the tech support line and ask about returning it.

I have a newish MBP and have the same problem with my "y". There was keyboard update recently for this very problem, but I had to run it about 10 times and it still does not seem to have made any difference. Never had this with any of my other keyboards. Y it is a problem with this one I do not know :pac:

Lol, I have no idea Y either.
So what have you done? Just learn to live with it, or get it replaced?
After googling around, it seems there are tons of other people with a similar problem, and Apple won't really acknowledge it

Its not exactly the problem you are having but it may be worth running the keyboard firmware update anyway. After that, I guess it depends on a)how many keys are giving hassle and b) how much it is annoying you.

I'm just living with my Y.
