Hi, anyone been to the Azores? Any tips on ways to get there, how long to stay, where to stay, the high-light and low-lights and so on? Thanks!:)

Thinking of going this year, a bit pricier than mainland Spain or Portugal so want to know if it's worth it. Looks amazing anyway.

Visited the Azores in 2002 - beautiful islands. They are all great but Sao Jorge island was my favourite - reminded me a bit of the west cork coastline for some reason (and I liked the hippy communes in the Faja's on the north coast).

I had to fly there via heathrow and then Lisbon but apprently you can now go direct from Dublin. Don't know the details.

I spoke to Sunways.ie and they gave me package offers, but for one hotel on the main island (from Dublin). There are others who organise packages via London. Still, better than the situation 10 years ago trying to visit there!

Did you organise the flights and accommodation yourself? And of course the travel between the island? :)!
