    Hi

I am running vista and conencting to my wireless router, no problem there however after about 15 minutes, i lose the connection. Now its not the connection to the wireless router, its just i cant ping anything and i have to do an ipconfig /renew in order to get back online. Now if i do an ipconfig. i still have the same ip address as i had when i was online and the /renew keeps that ip address.

I am just wondering has anyone come across this problem before, is it vista or what is it?

    thanks

Could be an IP conflict i.e another pc user is trying to use your ip address.Try and contact your broadband provider and see if there are any issues from their side......

    Hi glineli

Are you sure your not losing your connection to the wireless router??? Because an ipconfig/renew will only renew your IP address on the router (Private address 192.168.1.X) not the one assigned by your ISP (as far as I'm aware)

I was doing a bit of research here, seems like a vista issue. so i downloaded service pack 1, changed encryption to wpa and things seems a little bit better now.

Cool! Glad to hear Vista is living up to its reputation! :)
