Anyone that has a thing against cane toads, grab yourself a bag of doorknobs and a ticket to Oz.
What an odd family day out this would make.
And with the world lamenting the loss of both Steve Irwin AND Barry White, who will speak for the poor slimy monsters?

An Australian politician has suggested designating a special day for children and families in Queensland to hunt poisonous cane toads and put them in their freezers.

State parliament member Shane Knuth said today it would be a “Clean Up Australia Day” against the pest, which is killing off many of Australia’s native animals.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says it would support the action if the amphibians are killed humanely.

Apparently it’s a humane way to kill them.

I'd like to see a family hunting them come up with a humane way of killing them. Sitting on them is the best I can see them doing

having a family sit on them? howd you get a whole family on one of them!

Is no one else worried that this guy wants children to hunt poisonous animals? Granted, I'm sure it builds character, but is it really worth it?

Simply place the toad between two square family-size pieces of of wood. Place family on top of upper board. Hilarity ensues due to toad height reduction.

Bufotenin, one of the chemicals excreted by the Cane Toad, is classified as a Class 1 drug under Australian drug laws. This is the same classification as heroin and cocaine. It is thought that the effects of bufotenin are similar to that of mild poisoning; the stimulating effect, which includes mild hallucinations, lasts for less than one hour. Since the Cane Toad excretes bufotenin in very small amounts, and other toxins in relatively large amounts, toad licking could result in serious illness or death

Pah. That's what they say about all animal licking highs. I'm willing to take my chances.
