Not really sure where to post this, just wanted to share my experience.

so im booking a (fancy) hotel in ireland for a weekend away. As i always do, i check how much the hotel is direct and then check out the usual websites for deals, lastminute, laterooms, and so on.

So the best rate i get in €520 for a weekend. Then cos i a stingy fecker, i do some more searches and i come across a site aimed at american tourists which quotes in dollars. Heres the best bit. I get the same room type and deal for €320!!! I thought i was going mad and rechecked and it's all kosher.

The only drawback being that they couldnt confirm on the spot but it only took a few hours for it to be confirmed.

I think the site was asia rooms or something like that but the booking reference i have is gulliver.

It looks like with prices are being adjusted for our friends in the US with the weakening dollars.

Anyone got similar stories or recommend sites to visit?

Yup - got a room in Belfast with Asia Rooms for €86 when they were quoting a standard price of £130 (STG) for the same thing - and the cheapest I could get with the "usual" sites was about €140. Hip Hip Hooray! :D
