Just watched that WWE wrestling match between Mayweather ( a 10.5 stone lightweight) against that giant Big Show on youtube and I am wondering who you say would win in a proper fight ( fight in the street )..

    Big show 7 foot 1, 500 pounds

    Big_Show_002.jpg

Say against one of these hard hitters..

    Tyson 6 feet 215 pounds

    TYSONhome.jpg

    Vitali Klitschko 6 feet 6 240 pounds

    klitschkobongarts500_500.jpg

    Riiddck Bowe 6 feet 5 235 pounds

    mini_bowe.jpg

    All athletes at peak age/condition..

Big show calls one of the boxers mothers a dirty Ho outside a cinema, both men run to towards each other, who wins?

Buddy reckons the giant would win, as he just has to grab the boxer...

I think if the heavyweights land a punch its over, they will tear him apart...

a swift kick in the bag would cut him down to about 5'5" .. followed by a chuck norris round house kick to the head

    Instant fame

Tyson would just rape him into submission

I remember the last time they had a wrestler fighting a boxer. It was Butterbean, I think. It was hilarious because it was an actual boxing match. Butterbean walloped the wrestler and knocked him out after only a few punches. I was kind of wondering if the Big Show match would be a proper fight or a rigged one. I'll have to check it out.

the boxer, seeing as he's an athlete not an soap-actor/entertainer/clown

Mayweather is not a heavy weight boxer but he would have floored the Big Show in 'real life' with one good slap.

Ha thankfully this won't be a film!

Mike "chewonanear" Tyson would kill the Big Sh'l'ow though, fat basta'd

Agreed. Mayweather need only connect properly once and Big Show would be flat on his arse. Sure didnt he barely hit him and break his nose the first time they met.

Wrestling used to be great back in the days of Bret Hart, Stone Cold and the whole Attitude era.

Now its absolutely useless, ridiculous and even more far fetched, which is quite something considering its an act, not a sport.

Wrestling isn't staged man, 'cause "Stone Cold said so..." :D

official weigh-ins for the fight were

    Mayweather: 5ft 1", 159 lbs
    Big Show: 7ft 1", 451 lbs

The HHH,Rock,Austin,Mcmahon feuds were when wrestling was unmissable for me. Stagger in pissed at 1am and turn on Raw. Happy days!

Well in fairness,BigSHow retired from pro wrestling and did spend the last couple of years training to be a pro boxer!?
That would give him a bit more of a chance and if you throw in the fact that he has a 15inch fist, id say he would be knock anyone of those guys out, a ufc fighter might have a chance though

Knock out Tyson, Vitali Klitschko etc!

Couple of body shots/ uppercuts by those guys and its over imho...

If a class heavyweight boxer put it all on the line and just went for a big bear like Big Show, its lights out...

Big Show is huge and very very strong, but he does not have the speed, aggressiveness, sheer explosiveness or punch anywhere near as hard or fast as someone like Tyson/Klitschko at their peak...

Big show can afford to swing his huge fist and miss against some tiny like Floyd, but if he doesnt connect with a powerful heavyweight and they catch him of balance, who knows...

Sure Muhammad Ali fought Japanese wrestler Antonio Inoki in 1975.

when Ali realised it was gonna be a real fight, a great number of restrictions were put in place on Inoki. As he wasn't wearing gloves, no punches, no kicks above the waist, no head butts, basically no wrestling grapples/ moves. When the match started inoki went straight for Ali's legs, and basically spent the whole match (15 rounds) on his back kicking at Ali's legs.

The fight was called a draw in the 15th round, Ali threw about 6 punches.

Had no idea about this, must watch it now...

Both guys 33, similar weight height etc, why do they wear the gloves though?

    Stupid...

Ali isnt really suited to this kind of challenge though, doesnt really put in on the line and go straight for the kill, which you have to do against huge wrestlers...

An aggresive animal like Tyson etc wouldnt give the wrestler the chance to stand off and not get into a punching match...

    Intriguing :D

Theres not one specific boxer vs wrestler fight that stands out in my mind, but ufcs from 1 to maybe 12 were all about those guy from martial art 1 vs guy from martial art 2.

Number one had a boxer vs a much smaller ju jitsu guy, jummerson vs gracie.

Id say youd enjoy the Hackney Yarborough fight in number 3. Its a David vs goliath type fight.

Perhaps they would kick big shows arse.
He's big and dopey and slow as heck.

But a real wrestler, like a Brazilian Jujitsu fighter or similar MMA would destroy even Tyson in his peak.

You'd wanna be careful of that first punch though!

There was something like this on the radio a few months back. Yerman reckoned in a fight between Muhammad Ali and Bruce Lee, ali would win because he's bigger and just has more power than Ali.

I think that's nonsense, surely Bruce with he's wide range of fight skills and speed would cream anybody put before him.

Actually, he played college basketball for four years and has done Powerlifting and Strong Man contests.

A lot of the wrestlers have some pretty impressive sporting backgrounds actually.

And the answer is the boxer.

If you don't know why you have never fought a good boxer.

To mix it up a bit watch Fedor Vs Choi in MMA. Interesting take on the size thing helping you out against a smaller more skilled foe.

    The Boxer. Easily.

I dunno how your giving a definitive answer either way tbh. If mma has proven anything, its that no one skill can beat all the others. Although traditionally wrestlers have fared a lot better than boxers, they tend to be crap on their backs.

Second this. you should fine it on youtube easy enough, & its defintely worth seeing in the context of this debate.

Bart Gunn, at wrestlemania a few years ago. WWE had a series of shoot matches called the brawl for all.

The idea behind it was to be able to push Steve Williams as a legitimate tough guy. A fairly big star in Japan, he wasn't well known among wwf fans. However he ended up getting ko'd by Bart Gunn in the second round of the tournament.

UFC hall of famer Dan Severn also took part in the tournament, but withdrew.

I'd imagine that the boxer will be handing out the 'beatings' until he is on the brink of victory, then in an incredible plot twist, this Big Show chap will smack him with a dustbin lid (as thin as tinfoil) that just happens to be lying under the ring. It's panto for the masses.

It's unfair to put an overweight sexually-confused actor (because this is what all "wrestlers" are) in the ring with a professional boxer. It would be tantamount to murder.

actually the exact opposite happened, wrestler on top then mayweather uses a chair and brass knuckles to win; in the end both men put on a very good show and mayweather is a born entertainer in any field, real or pre-determined

i would like to see a real shoot fight between the two, the question is could a 150lb man really hurt a moving 450lb guy with a punch carrying a third of his weight of pressure.

I saw one fight with Butterbean versus some tiny Japanese martial artist who just ran around Butter till he got an opening and put him in an arm bar or leg lock, can't remember but it was kinda embarrassing to watch for Butter being whupped by your man.

Who would have thunk it! Actually, it makes sense - this way that fans are left wanting more. Wouldn't be too shocked to see 'Iron Mike' battle the 'Iron Sheik' with special guest referee with a Sgt. Slaughter some time down the road. No doubt a tables, dustbins and chairs will be involved at some stage.

It has been many a year since I last watch those guys with their withered genitals (that's steroids for ya!) crammed into their horrendously tight Lycra undies prance around the ring grappling each others greased-up bodies.
