This will make the war on terror all the harder for Ireland.

    I trusted those guys.

I say the time for talking is over. We have to nuke terror now.

Did you watch the video? I can't believe they actually did that. Why were there even blokes in the room?

I watched the video and I'm sure it was a horrible experience for her. I don't know "the war on terror" has to do with anything though.

Well, America acts like it's the saviour of the free western world and our freedom relies on them saving us from Islam. But this video, along with lots of others I have seen, makes me hope that American justice doesn't infiltrate our lives.

+1, horrible thing for the woman to go through but no idea how this is linked to a war on terror, or even more so "our" war on terror

Well define terror? I see it as someone who's being terrorised by someone or people for different reasons e.g Sex, Pleasure, Sadism who knows but i'm just saying that it dosen't have to be by a terrorist or even abroad for it to be classed as terrorism, it could mean torture as well and this women was tortured and humiliated by people who are supposed to stop these things from happening.

We're not in a war against terror. That's the Bush administration you're thinking of.

well they are doing that to "the Terrorists" as well, The Yanks are more violent shocker!

The War on Terror in an Irish context is almost over, got the balaclava wearers into Stormont, now the stormy path to democracy is being walked, it only took 20 years! (800 years for the hardcore )

That's exactly what I'm getting at.

"War on terror" is a profoundly stupid phrase.

According to the article, she was put through this torture because she accidently produced the wrong identification card, and the police went batsh*t crazy into war on terror fake ID = terrorist mode

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,577 ✭✭✭StormWarrior

Well she was arrested because she produced the wrong ID but she was handcuffed forced down and stripped because she refused to remove her clothes. Why on earth were the men helping to do this to her? There were enough female police there already.

Supposedly they removed her clothes so she would be unable to harm herself. Not that she even threatened to!

I don't get why they filmed it though.

She should count herself lucky they didn't give her a few jolts of a taser for good measure.

I can't f*cking stand those articles that have every sentence as a paragraph on its own.

    Like this.

    It's really f*cking patronising.

    Not to mention retarded!

The video did not make for pleasant viewing at all. Does anyone have or know where one can find any more information about the case? I can't find anything on google beyond the sherrif refusing to talk to the media, and the victim's statements. I'm intrigued as to what happened that got her in that awful situation. I'm sceptical as to it being just on account of accidently handing over her dead sister's license.

War of Terror is a more appropriate title I think...

Before I click on this link, we have to know two things.
    1. Was she hot?
    2. Does she have nice boooobies

Before I answer your questions I need to know two things:
    1. Your credit card number
    2. The CVN

Oh, nice thread title - even the tabloidiest tabloid would be envious (They have to make up stupid titles that relate in some way to the story.)

Emm... thanks? I think my post was fairly clear, but I'll spell it out. There is no way I'd put my name to a petition protesting against such behaviour when I don't know why this was done to her.

Blonde cop on the right was hot. She can forcibly remove my clothes any day.

Hearing stuff like that gives me a horrible sickly feeling. Won't watch the video

Those Bush people are not particularly bright, often following orders without question? Maybe they were thinking of another word that sounds like war but spelled differently?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 815 ✭✭✭Moojuice

We are not engaged in a war of terror, despite the complicity of our government. And the US are not our allies. Terrible video and a misleading thread title.

Bingo. How is a small Sherriff's department anything got to do with the war on terror.

Then again, not as many people might have read the thread.

Can I ask who the hell recorded it?

    Christ.

    1. That's assuming that there is such a thing as a "war on terror"
    2. I hardly think an assault by police officers can be classed as terrorism

What you've done is mixed up terror and terrorism. All acts of terrorism might produce terror, whereas all acts of terror are not necessarily terrorism. Terrorism can usually be considered as a violent act, perpetrated directly against A to coerce B into making decisions that they would otherwise not make, usually sub-state actors against states.

If anything, it should be classed as the "war on terrorism" not the "war on terror".

Also, I'm pretty sure that the judicial system will deal with those police in time?

I reckon its standard fare to film a strip search in situations where the prisoner is freaking out, just so they cant accuse the officers of rape. Either that or it makes for interesting viewing at the christmas party.

God almighty that was so disturbing. I hope she gets thousands and the police officers are sacked.

They removed her clothes because she did not answer "no" to the question "have you ever thought about harming yourself, and instead replied, "what, now or ever?"

And I think you've missed the point. Even if it was absolutely necessary to remove her clothes, why were men doing it? She was handcuffed and there were female officers available, plus it is illegal and immoral to be forcibly stripped by members of the opposite sex. Would you think this was ok if it had been done to your mother or sister, even if they had committed a crime?
