    Hi,
have a random question that i am hoping someone can answer.
How do internet cafes support different languages and character sets?
Is it through changing settings only (and if so how is this done) or are there cases where different keyboard / keyboard stickers are supplied?
Any replies / info on this would be great, or just PM me. TY!

You can load character sets and languages/keyboard settings with the instal disc (certainly on XP , not sure about Win2k) . Once loaded you choose your default preferences but the rest are available if/when required . Additional language/character packs are also available from M$ website ....

For Chinese, Japanese and Korean you can use the same keyboard but in Windows you need to install the suitable IME (Input Method Editor).

    Here's a simple guide: http://www.andante.org/ime_winxp.html
You'd do the same thing for Traditional Chinese (don't know the difference TBH and don't know who uses the two), Korean and Japanese.

Here's a more detailed guide on using the Japanese IME: http://greggman.com/japan/xp-ime/xp-ime.htm
NOTE: DO NOT follow the step regarding that "Advanced" tab and changing the "Language for non-Unicode Programs", unless you like your backslashes turning into yen signs and some programs installing in Japanese with no option on changing them to English. This is only for certain old software to work correctly with double-byte "CJK" characters (Chinese, Korean, Japanese). You don't need it for normal web browsing or whatever.
