I am not sure whether I have Chorus via cable or dish/aerial.

Is there anyway of finding out from the tech info etc?

not that I can see... there is a normal aerial on the chimney belonging to the neighbours but that seems to be about it.

Do the chorus aerials look differant - someone told me they were like a square mesh.

They are a mesh I think normally square, not 100% though. Do you have cables running along the front / side / back of your house? You should be able to tell based on how the wiring is. Sounds more like cable in your case.

you see, that's the thing. I can't see any cables outside the house either.

ok cable tv can come into to your house numerous ways.
one like the cable to the front or back of your house.
it can come in under ground either through the telphone conduit from the road.
sometimes all the houses have cable pulled out to the road side and an underground junction box is out there.
if you are getting more than rte1 net2 tg4 you have cable television

Sorry for jumping on this thread

Just wondering is there any way to find if your area is digital tv compatiable other than asking chorus or neighbours?

Have the basic chorus package but thinking of upgrading to some digital package.

    Cheers

You need to ring and ask UPC.

all the cabled areas can take a digital signal.
you can get broadband and digi tv through your cable no problem

Some areas may not have Digital TV yet (though virtually all now).

Some areas may not have Broadband even if they have Digital.
MMDS fed cable areas don't generally have Broadband.
