i eat several apples a day for vitamin c.
im using loreal expert cream every night.

none of this has helped much but i admit the circles have shrunken.

I have the same problem, along with my cousin, and we endlessly strive to find a solution!! Ive found this girl who posts "how to" videos on youtube, Ive watched some of them and theyre pretty good, but you might find this one helpful

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=tkOYBiy1nOA

To be honest, I havent yet tried it, but have tried some of the eye makeup stuff, and she seems to know what shes on about..worth it even if orange lipstick only costs a couple of euro!!

It can be heriditary, in which case you could be screwed. A lot of people say that cream for piles works, I wish I were kidding. Aside from that eye make up might be your best bet

Actually if you search back a few pages or so you'll see along thread on this topic..discussing the piles creams and all :)

Maybe you need more than seven hours sleep a night

In fact, if you can't get rid of the circles I'd say this is quite likely. Just because it's "average" doesn't mean it suits you.

I "manage" on seven hours a night, but I know I'd really need to be getting 9 hours a night to be at my best.

i use YSL Touche Eclat concealer. its kinda expensive but so worth it.
& drinking lots of water helps.

    same as above

OK, I suspected that but didn't want to say it and offend anyone!

I don't think you're going to solve this problem with creams and potions.

You have to decide whether living with them is worse than wearing makeup or having surgery and make a decision on that.

I wouldn't rule out concealer if I were you, if you have it on right no one will know. I know a few guys who use concealer to cover spots so this isn't much different really.

    so anyone know any creams?

    Hi,
You're not going to like this one but the best possible eye cream you can get is Creme de la Mer Eye concentrate. It is pricey, but I found it made a huge difference as I suffered from dark circles also and now I dont. It is the best and its the quality you're paying for.

www.cremedelamer.com/ They deliver from England. But if you know of anyone going over to the States anytime soon, get them to get it for you as its much cheaper over there.

I would not spend a fortune on creme de la mer.

Benefit night a mins eye cream does wonders for dark shadows (I should know I have ridiculously deep set eyes and dark circles). For Concealer use estee lauder disappear concealer its amazing stuff! I prefer it to touch eclat as if you are going to be in photos touch eclat will show bright racoon circles all around your eyes

although you could counteract this by using eyco cream all over your face under your makeup.

Massaging the area around your eyes daily will also help to reduce dark circles as it improves circulation.

Yep Creme de la Mer is very pricey, eye cream costs over €100 for a teeny tiny pot of the stuff! Go into BT and ask for a sample, try it for a few days and see how you go rather than buying it and finding out it doesn't work for you. If it does work you can splash out then.

sounds good. how long did the process take?

so anyone tried either cremedalermere or the one above? which one's better?

took a few weeks with the benefit eye cream. I stopped using it for a while and saw a difference so started again and its getting better! I will always have deep set eyes but the severity of the circles and the dark colour has really lessened so I need far less makeup to cover it! Its a tiny pot but always lasts me a few months you canget it in liffey valley

the estee lauder concealer works right away might be worth seeing if you can try a sample at their make up stand?

My mam used to use creme de la mer but she gave it up. The only product of theirs i really like is the exfoliator. If you want to try it I would go on ebay theres always sellers flogging the 5ml and 7ml trial pots for a couple of euro. I got 2 of the 5ml exfoliators for 10 euro a while back (will last me ages as u use a tiny bit at a time!)

I goggled the Night A Mins cream Sugar Drunk recommends because I have the dark circles from hell and Benefit don't make it! It's an Origins cream.

However in case she was confused regarding the name rather than brand then www.benefitcosmetics.com is the best site for benefit products. It's their US site but they ship worldwide and with the state of the dolar as it is all their products tend to work out between half and 2/3rds of the price you'd pay in any shop here.

please! can ANYONE offer any info on anything im desperate!

    http://earthclinic.com/CURES/dark_circles_eyes.html

That site is brilliant you should check it out :) Apple Cider Vinegar is suggested to take, seriously, the amount of things it benefits is unreal, so you should keep taking it even if it clears your eyes as it's probably going to benefit you in many other ways too. Try get the organic stuff from a health shop. I've used it myself for ailments and it has worked wonderfully :)

Sometimes dark circles are helped by improving the circulation in the area around the eyes. If you put any eye cream on and then use your ring finger because it applies least pressure, to tap in an anti clockwise motion from the outside of your eye socket right around the eye socket bone and up under the brow bone and back for a few rotations it will usually brighten your eye area up a little. I think it's impossible to get rid of dark circles completely but some things like this may help somewhat.

And seeing as you say you're desperate ...
Might be worth having a look at Hylexin cream too .I haven't tried it. I've just heard the hype about it. It's expensive but is specifically for hard core dark circles. From what I can see it gets mixed to negative reviews but there is the occasional very positive one too(I know...not very encouraging). It's for "serious dark circles" rather than the "morning after the night before" variety. See more here :

Have a look on Ebay! I found some half the price! Goodluck.:D

I've always read that dark circles under the eyes are a sign of poor kidney function. Drink 2 litres of water per day for a couple of weeks and see if the circles don't improve. It worked for me. If your eyes are puffy in the morning try holding a cool glass gently against your under eye for about 30 seconds. Also, see if you can get a bit more sleep!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 26 eire-2k8

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,844 ✭✭✭✭cormie

Seriously, give the apple cider vinegar a shot first, it'll save a lot of grief, money and time if it works, which I would have high hopes of :)

    where would i get it?:O

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,844 ✭✭✭✭cormie

Any good health store should have it and it's only a fiver or something for a litre or so of the best type :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 26 eire-2k8

kk, well my girlfriend has offered to buy the creme de la mere so i mite aswell take it. ill buy the apple cider tommorow id say. basicaly, is 30ml of creme de la mere moistureiser good for 100 euro and is this the right stuff i should be getting for dark cirlces

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,844 ✭✭✭✭cormie

Why don't you just give the ACV a chance for a week before blowing 100 quid on what ACV could sort out for a fiver, then you'd have €95 left to spend on more ACV because it's great to take every day anyway but rub a little on the black circles and you could/should see improvement the next morning :) I only had a glance, but read the page I linked you to above about the eyes, and then look on the left hand menu at "top remedies" ACV is number one, have a click and read about how good it is for pretty much everything :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 26 eire-2k8

alrite so i will! how would it it work? would i have to drink it or/....?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,844 ✭✭✭✭cormie

Not sure specifically for eyes, I think I read you dab a little around the darkness, but you should drink 2 tablespoons full (with a little warm water is good) at least once every day anyway to get its other benefits. Read the page I linked to above to be sure about the eye thing.

feck yes sorry god I am thick i use benefit make up and I always get the two mixed up. origins night a mins eye cream theres a stand in liffey valley and i think you can get on hqhair.com

if you dont fancy drinking apple cider new nordic do apple cider tablets. they primarily are marketed as weight loss aid but cider vinegar has many benefits i have taken it for my joints.personally i think your mad to spend 100 quid on creme de la mere when so many other cheaper alternatives have been suggested. you could prob get the acv and a concealer for under 40 euro....

oh, funny thing, boyf asked the other day why my eyes looked darker! i explained that id not put concealer on yet - even he was aqmazed at the difference it makes

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 26 eire-2k8

the problem is that no one has said that the cider has worked for dark cirles yet and how long the ;process would take. that swhy i wanted creme de la mere beacuse it was said by severall people circles were gone in 4 days... can you get creme de la mere in small sample pots for free or for a small sum to try? sorry for not letting this thread die btw

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,844 ✭✭✭✭cormie

Somebody on the page I linked to said that the ACV has worked for them. Don't worry, that site is not trying to sell anything, it's just like this, people posting their own experiences. A bottle of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar will cost you less than a fiver and could very well have the same or better results than the creme for €100. Did you buy it yet? Try it out anyway :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 381 ✭✭ash xxx

hey, glad you've chosen the creme de la mer, i love it, it really works. Its the Eye Concentrate that I use. You should go into BT's and explain to them that you're desperate to find a good cream, they should have little sample pots for you to try.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 26 eire-2k8

bought the acv. willl start reading up on it later as im in work till 8. which is better in creme de la mere, the cream or lotion, is 100 euro good for 30ml?

you must have looked at the facial moisturisers, the cream is better than the lotion for your face. But its not specifically for the eyes.
