Hi, just wondering if someone can give me some advice.

I usually go running a few times a week in the late evening for about 4 miles at a time. But even though i will have last eaten about 4 hrs before i run, i still quite often get a stitch. I would usually eat either porridge or some sort of healthy sandwich before hand. Ive tried eating less in the meal or eating even earlier but that usually results in me running on an empty stomach, which ive heard isnt good for you either.

I can usually run through the stitch although they can be quite annoying but i was just wondering is there something im doing wrong as it happens quite a bit and i would have thought 4 hrs was plenty of time to not get a stitch?

Also, by eating after exercising, say at about 10 or 10.30pm, am i undoing any good i may have done in terms of weight loss?

    Any help appreciated.

Heres what I do and it works fine for me.................
Training @ 7 - Eat lunch @ 2.30ish (Chicken or Tuna with Rice or Pasta and Veg)
Cup of green tea, almonds and banana @6-ish
    9- RAM X
After 9.30-10 1/2lb mince with pitta and cottage cheese + veg

    Training @ 8 - Eat lunch @ 1.30ish (see above)
Dinner at 6-6.30 (2 Chicken fillets, hanful of pasta and Veg)
    10.30 - RAMX
11 - Whey with cottage cheese and peanut butter or whey with milk

And you should always eat after you train even if you are going to bed. This will give your body the nutrients it needs to build muscle as you sleep. Slow digesting sources of protein are the best e.g: Cottage cheese, beef etc.
