I just went to the following website whatismyipaddress and it came back with 83.71.***.***. Then i checked my Dos prompt and it had 192.168.1.2.
I was hoping someone can explain this please.

The 83.* address is the publically facing address of your internet router. The 192.* address is the local address of your computer. The router uses a technique called Network Address Translation to allow you to put many devices on your local network onto the internet using only one public facing IP address.
