Codec's?

Basically I've recorded footage of a game (not using fraps but with a replay function in the game) and I currently have the footage in avi format saved using the Huffyuv v2.1.1 semi lossless codec.

This is just test footage, I plan to be collecting a lot of footage to edit together into multiple videos.

Thing is the 15 min test footage is over 10gb.

But I wont have the space to be editing loads of clips together out of all these 10gb + video files.

    Soooooooooooooooooooooo

What I wanna do is compress them in virtual dub then bring them into premiere to edit them. But this will mean the vidoes will be compressed a good few times before I have the final video done (not even including when its compressed by youtube...)

So I'm looking for a decent codec that will keep the quality as much as it can but make my vids much smaller for when I'm bring them into premiere.

Microsoft video 1 is not the best at all, and I dunno there must be something better then Cinepak.

Divx/xvid is going too far since I'm talking about compressing them just for editing. I'll be going the divx root after im done editing in premiere.

So what other codecs are there?

I'd recommend a standard DV-PAL codec for this kind of work. 13 GB per hour approximately.
