Cash games: All in question

Sorry about this Donk question, but I'm perplexed why some networks(Sky Poker, Microgaming) make the hole cards stay hidden during an all in(Cash games) whereas in others (Betunfair, iPoker) they're flipped over.

I must admit on Microgaming it's bloody absolutely nerve racking when you're in with the likes of Jacks and say a Queen pops up on the flop.

What is the rationale why some sites do and some sites don't?

    Thanks.

All in on their backs was introduced to prevent collusion in tournaments, it was never meant to be used in cash games.

The reasoning for it is: before the advent of the TV boom it would be very rare for players to show their cards before the showdown. TV changed that, because for tv viewers its much more exciting if they know what both players have. Many online casinos, because they are a new industry with no tradition, go down the tv route. Some dont, because they want to mimic what happens in real casinos.

if a players mucked hands is going to be able to be able to be seen after the hand anyway, then not showing during the all in is stupid.

That's another thing that bothers me, how on earth can you muck your cards at showdown then your opponent has ability to see your cards?

    Strange, strange rule.

often it can be seen by the other players at the table, but not by anyone observing/datamining. In which case showing during the all in is stupid.

Yeah this is true, although personally I like to see the cards showndown so I can move onto the next table and not have to go back to the HH to see what beat me or what I beat. Just makes things easier when multitabling.
