Right, calling all you hacker type people (im a coder myself but I dont know this area of expertise..)

I have an HP laptop and I am sick to tears of waiting for them to issue me new updates for my graphics card, the Nvidia Geforce 8400M GS.

the last time I received an updated driver was August.

I want to know how I can go about modifying the standard driverpack from Nvidia to work on my laptop.

HP will probably never update their drivers, there is no point waiting for a manufacturer release. Use the official drivers and get the releveant modded inf file above.

But read through the threads, the 8400GS is a low end card and the older drivers may be better optimized for it then the later ones. I'm using 169.01 I think on my 8600GT and it's good, though I know with my older Go7400 the newer drivers led to a massive performance decrease...

But Nvidia's laptop Graphics cards are basically unsupported.... But the desktop drivers work fine so just do what Terror said and all will be well :)
