Redness

This has been bugging me for quite some time now. I'm a male in his 20s whose cheeks tend to stay quite red during the day. Some days it can be okay and it's not very noticable, other days it can be a nightmare as I can 'feel' that they're extremely red. Also, from time to time people like to point out the obvious fact that I'm bright red, like I didn't realise it or something. I'm expecting some people to say that it's just the complextion of m face and that there's nothing that I can do about it. But I'm hoping there is.

    thanks

    Some things to consider:

    - Moisturise before you have your shower and let your skin soak-up the moisture for a few minutes before actually having the shower

    - Make sure you drink adequate amounts of water; and stay away from sugary carbonated drinks

    - Don't get into the habit of touching your face with your hands all the time

I'm not suggesting you have this condition but maybe there might be something in the treatment or alternative treatment that might help you.

Stay away from coffee, tea, coca-cola and any other produce with caffeine in it. This will increase your heart rate, hence your blood circulation, making the problem more noticeable.

Also, do you have thread veins? Sometimes a lot of tiny thread veins can be the cause of this. If so, you can get lazer treatment in a salon to remove these.

I have typical Irish skin and I find if I go from the cold into a warm environment and vice versa my skin can go red. Does your skin get itchy or can you feel it when your skin goes red?

If you have a rash it might be something like acne rosacea, which your doctor can treat. You should have a chat with your doctor anyway.

colour correcter you can get a green cream to put on your cheeks exactly like a moisturiser and it works.I am so pale sometimes my checks are really red.
you can get them in boots no.17 where all the makeup stands are it will be where the foundations etc are its in a dark tube, not expensive though you can get more expensive ones, but its worth a try.

I would say your best bet would be to see a dermatologist. They'll be able to analyze your skin to see what's causing the redness. I think even the private ones you'll need your GP to refer you. Check out http://www.beacondermatology.ie

Also, from time to time people like to point out the obvious fact that I'm *insert anything out of the ordinary*, like I didn't realise it or something.

    That's people for ya.
