When will we here in Ireland have all these channels on our EPG?
Why are they not available? I'm told the reason that ITV1234 are not on the EPG is that rubbish station TV3 are stopping them, any truth in this?

BBC are not available as they are not paid to put them there. TV3 are the reason that ITV3 and 4 were removed so blame them

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that ITV are english based stations aimed at people who pay for an english tv license. The fact we dont contribute to them could be a factor as to why these channels wont pay to be added to the Irish EPG.

ITV have nothing to do with the UK license fee. Also UTV have a lot of advertising aimed at viewers down south.

Sky pays BBC for BBC1 & BBC2 on irish EPG.
BBC pays Sky for All the BBCs on UK EPG.

Yeh, they're not on the EPG but I have managed to tune all of them into the 'Other Channels' section. I have all of the ITV's and BBC's including BBC 3 & 4. I also have BBC London & Scotland (which is handy for when certain soccer games are only on them). Just search the Internet for tuning information.

The fact that you can add all these channels on the other channels section adds more weight to the point that its stupid that they arent included as the norm on Sky.

And why is it that NTL/Chorus can quite happily include ITV without complaint from TV3? And ITV3 and ITV4 show mostly there own programming that TV3 will never show.

Sky clearly advertise the fact that you can receive ITV through the other channels option so why not go the full hog and Include them.

Also add to the fact they ITV are about to go HD and the BBC are in HD the Irish subscriber are getting a raw deal.

Why cant we have BBC HD When we already see the same programmes in SD?

I think its more to do with the fact that SKY treat the Irish subscriber with complete contempt, In the UK Sky offer its customers Broadband, cheaper discounts on HD and SKY Plus boxes and far more better interactive options. They even engage in some discussion with their custoemrs on the Digital spy messageboards. But In Ireland they give us the basics and like fools we take it as they are the only real option for multi channel TV.

I just cant wait for the UK to get their FREESAT offer up and running, Just think a FTA satellite system offering PVR and HD without a monthly subscription. ALL the BBC and ITV channels with HD.

Cable is very different to satellite when it comes to programme rights. That is why. Do UPC have ITV 2, 3 and 4? I don't think they do.

Perhaps they can't  Sky do not have the final say in what channels do.

How? BBC HD, Channel 4 HD and the forthcoming ITV HD are not part of the UK Sky HD subscription. You are getting the same channels as the UK for your €15

You need to ask Sky but it is available in Other Channels

I believe that Sky treat all their customers with contempt. Not just Irish subscribers. I would not blame Sky for not having broadband in this country. It would be pointless. What fantastic interactive options can you not access?

Have they blocked access to the Digital Spy board? Can you not read it?

You may find this hard to believe but nobody is forcing you to subscribne to Sky.

You wont be alone but what is stopping you from buying a HD PVR now to watch the free channels?

Interestingly I notice that CITV is on the EPG (Channel 621). Is this a precursor to ITV joining the Irish EPG??

No. CITV has always been there since launch.

It is a pity they aren't on the Sky EPG though, it means you can't record any of the programmes with a Sky+ box.
