I want to fill a prescription for the pill that I got 10 months ago - will a chemist accept the prescription now?

It depends on how long the doctor giving the prescription wants it to last for. If it's a repeat prescription for 6 months, it will probably say 'repeat x6' on the back.

I've had prescriptions given for 6 months, 3 months, and ones where they expire the moment you use them.

it is valid for 6 months. if it says repeat x6 but you only get it filled on the 3rd month you will still only get 3 months supply.
