Bose In-ear headphones = Bose Triport IE headphones?

I bought a set of Bose In ear headphones off ebay and they arrived today.

Now, here's the dilemma. I recently bought the same set around Xmas for a present. The set I got at Xmas were unreal, top quality.

I went about getting a pair for myself, and found a set on ebay at a decent price. I piurchased it using 'Buy It Now' and paid up straight after buying. The listing I won was then removed by ebay for a discrepency in the informatiuon of the listing (i've been told this by the seller).

I was wary that there were two different types of in-ear headphones (Triport IE and In-Ear) with quite a large price difference, and I was bidding on the more expensive In-ear.

Anyway, the package arrived today, same box as the first set of quality headphones i bought at xmas, but it just seemed like something wasn't right.

The gauze on one of the earphones came off with the earbud, the manual said "Triport IE headphones" whereas the box said In Ear.
So I got the orinigal box that I got at xmas and had a look at it.

It looks like the box I recieved is a poor imitation of the real box, and I didn't recieve the BOSE manuals and guarantees etc. (Looking at both boxes off at a glance, you wouldn't notice any real difference, but there's no serial number/barcode sticker on the newer box. I don't have the headphones that were in the box at xmas as they were a present to someone but ill be able to check them out next week and compare them,.

I have been looking on the net for the differences between the Triport IE and the "In-Ear" but haven't found jack. I haven't got up yet to test them on my Zune as I'm still in bed (the joys of the builders holidays) so can't compare quality yet.

I reckon i've been sold a cheap imitation anyway, from a seller who was misguiding buyers. I'm about to go through the dispute resolution process, but is there any difference between the "In-Ear" headphones and "Triport IE" headphones?

Not what you want to hear, but ebay is full of listings offering fake
Bose, Shure and other brand name earphones.
