Splitters like this will tend to work but I would suggest an amlifier such as the excellent Global F140. This will allow you to run upto 4 rooms with magic eyes.

The great part is you dont need a plug socket as the sky box will power it up for you.

    Check out one here

Thanks steveon..But can I ask what you mean by "dont need a plug socket as the sky box will power it up for you". Does the splitter I linked to need a power supply?

    i use this one.....

it needs no power supply as it run of the sky box and it runs 2 magic eyes (one for a tv in the bedroom and one in the kitchen) and works a treat.

What I mean is the global amplifier doesn't need to be plugged in anywhere, as the power it requires will be provided from the rf 2 connection at the back of the skybox so it can be placed anywhere in the house.

The splitter you shown doesn't need to be plugged in but may not work with magic eyes, I have found that when they do work they tend to fail quite regularly hence why I recommended the amp specified...

And another quick question......I have a Sky box that I would like to move in between 2 rooms. Ignoring the Magic Eyes for a moment, can the F140 take a Sky signal directly from the dish and distribute to the 4 O/P. I can then plug in my Sky box to any of the 4 connections.???

No in order to do what your taking about you will need to do the following.

Put up a dual or Quad Lnb(Quad recommended) and run a cable directly to the room you require. You would then need to run a cable from the sky box back to the location of the f`140 amp or alternative amp..

You cannot split a sky signal directly, if you try to do so it will only cause problems....quad lnbs are quite readily available and not too expensive...If you have 2 boxes do you not have a quad already installed??

Yep I have a quad LNB, would I still run a cable from RF2 Outback to F140 (Sky+ and Sky).

Yes you will still need to run a cable from the rf 2 of whatever box you wish to control via a magic eye. If you run a cable from each of the boxes rf2 you can get a device also made by global called a Sky+ combiner.

You can then put the output of the combiner into the F140 amp and then you can control and watch both boxes anywhere you want.
