just after taking delivery of a canon 400d from kea photo, based on the good feedback from people here about them. Put in battery, put on len and put in the cf card... turned it on... 'There is a problem with the cf card, replace cf card'
So poped out the card and had a look into the card sot and it appears there is bent pin....

Now i know when i put the card in, i put it in correctly, and didn't have to apply any force to it...

I popped into a local camera shop and he confirmed my worst fears...

now what to do... ? contact kea photo and have it sent back? will a canon repair place here even look or fix it or what warranty should i have on it? The guy in the shop also mention Image supply something-or-other who apparently repair canon camera - would there be any point ringing them?

Id say contact keaphoto the guys seems genuine explain your problem and ask him if he could either replace it for you or give you details to a camera repair place where it can be fixed under warranty

hmmm, yeah will contact him now... do you know who paid for the delivery of the item back and the replacement. As it cost near 80eur in delivery i rather not be stung for another 160...

gah i'm just sick & numb now over all this..

You may have to pay the cost of shipping it to Kea but they will pay the cost of shipping a new one to you. Ask nicely, and they may pay for both shipping.

They're very helpful, so you should be alright.
