Spare Sky Digibox - help!

I'm pretty clueless here so please bear with me.

I've a satellite in a 2nd (holiday) house and an old sky digibox, which works ok but has no current subscription. I also have an old Sky viewing card. My main digibox (and sub.) is kept in my home. I can transport home box etc. and access all channels fine, but my query relates to the spare box....

When hooked up the picture is fine. I get FTA channels I assume.

    2 questions:

1/. Can I programme the menu so that it shows the FTA channels only?

2/. Box asks for a code when I attempt to tune in "extra channels". I don't know what this code is. Can I use a universal code of some sort?

Any help would be most welcome. Thanks.

What code are you referring to?

I've never heard of such a code, try reading the sticky on adding bbc channels

It's prob looking for the PIN of the sky card thats in the box.

You can't edit the program listing on a sky box.

I'm open to correction but does "add channels" need a pin code? It would be helpful if the OP could tell us the exact wording on the screen when this "code" is being requested.

    Sometimes, if it's prewatershed hours
it's stop the kids getting round blocks on the adult channels in the EPG etc.

Yeah makes sense but as i've not come across it am I right in saying it has to be enabled in the parental lock?

Yes, if you turn on parental lock, every time you want to watch other channels it will ask you for your pin.

Go into services and select favourite channels. Now highlight the fta channels you like and press yellow to add a tick to them. When you are happy with your selections(Upto 50) press select.

Now press TV guide followed by the blue button and you will see the tv listings for only the FTA channels you selected.

Hope that's what you looking for.

Ok I hooked up the 2nd digibox. The issue is when I press services - other channels it is pin protected. I don't know the pin. Can this be over ridden?

I think Sky use the last 4 digits of your card number as default PIN.

Hes not on chorus/ntl. Thos is correct try the last 4 digits on your viewing card otherwise you will have to contact sky for this.
