Ugh, I had a feeling I'm going to get jumped for asking this question but I couldn't find much more info about it here, and I dont know much about phones so please go easy on me!:o

    I recently bought a sim-free (and network unlocked) w910i.
    Cool phone.

I'm on Meteor, but the phone still has some vodafone stuff in the operating system, such as shortcuts to "vodafone live" and annoying game demos which I cant delete.

Am I right in thinking that the phone has to be "flashed" or "debranded" (difference??) in order to get it back to its original settings?

As far as I know it would need to be debranded to take advantage of things like "flash menus".

Theres a kid doing something here with another SE phone:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JJVdgOIo-Y

Is that on the right track?

Google is not coming up with much for me so far. These guys:http://www.akshayy.com/sonyericsson/?s=910 seem to do something, but its not the most user friendly site.

Can anyone pleeease point me in the right direction?! :)

    TIA

I used that site to unlock and upgrade the software on my k550i. The guys english isn't great alright (think he's Indian) but if you read it a few times you get the idea! I think the whole process is safer than you think and doesn't take too long once you've found the right files (firmware files took me ages to find).

It's definately worth doing as there are loads of nice tweaks out there for most SE phones. Check out http://www.topsony.com/forum/cmps_index.php where I found some interesting stuff too.

    Good luck!

Nearly always worth debranding the phone, makes it faster and SE icons look a lot better

    Hi

I debranded my SE k800i just last week, I used http://www.wotanserver.com/en/ took under 10 min from start to end and only €6, I sent a question and they replied within 48 hours

I didn't use davinici because reading their forum a few people complaint that they did not get a response regarding issues.

Only problem is Wotanserver dont support the W910i as its a new type chip
You will have to use Davinci for it
