Downgrading

What is the story with downgrading? Do I have to get the aeg downgraded before it is shipped or can I arrange to get it done here. Do I have to get it done at all? I dont want to skirmish with it, its just a gun I always loved. What retailers perform the downgrading, I have sent a few emails but heard no replies and how much will it cost me.
Alot of questions, I know.

You can only import aegs that are <1j this is the legal limit simple as no arguments, even if it just for show you still need to have it downgraded, most retailers abroad or domestic would be able to do this for you normally it would cost about 20 - 30 usd from hong kong for example, what aeg are you looking to get and what shop are you looking at>?

Gunner airsoft do, if you import anything firing at over 1J it is classed as an illegal firearm, so yes downgrade before thinking of importing anything

if you import a gun over 328 fps with a .2g bb its is a firearm, it doesnt

matter if you dont skirmish with it, you are in possession of an illegally held

firearm. you have to get it donw before its shipped if its tested by customs

and is over the limit it will be destroyed

Its a jg G3SG1, I have emailed loads of hk and american sites, cobra, rsov, gunner, just got 1 reply from airsoftglobal but their price is way more than the rest plus $40 to downgrade. Are gunner very slow, they have a good price as do cobra. I have read since that rsov dont do downgrades.

always good to ask, i know rsov have and can do downgrades, they ave just been very busy (never seemed to have recovered since new years holidays), also its easters holidays at the moment so they are a bit slow replying to emails at the moment

Are you sure that was Rsov and not Gunner ?

I've asked Keith a few times and he's always answered negatively. In fact the last time he said they'd be willing to cut the inner barrel down because that might reduce the energy, but that they wouldn't have the resources for gearbox work. Which kinda made me not want to pursue it any further

the last time i ordered an aeg rsov was umm some time ago so more than likely out of date it seems i used to have items downgraded by them but like i said seems to be out of date know

I think he just ment they were under one joule. It was just some JG stuff which was bordering the limit, which made me edgy.

www.redwolfairsoft.com will downgrade/upgrade to 1 joule, plus they can do a paint job as well.
