A man who tried to use a gun to install a satellite television system ended up shooting his wife dead by accident.

Ronald Long tried to make a hole in the exterior wall of his house in Missouri, US, to install the dish for the system.

After several unsuccessful attempts, he got a .22-calibre handgun and blasted two holes in the wall.

The second bullet hit his wife, Patsy, in the chest, fatally wounding her.

She was standing outside the house at the time, but Long reportedly thought she was inside.

lol this reminds me of the simpsons episode where homer joins a gun club and is using the gun to turn off light switches, close doors, etc and cletus says "Are you some kinda moron" (say it in cletus voice). lol @ american gun culture, not the poor wife in question.

Anyway, the whole point of Darwinian selection in Humans is silly (i.e. the 'Stupids' remove themselves from the gene pool), as it requires no intelligence to breed.

Depending on what mood I'm in I could laugh at that story or get angry. As innocent the man was in the death, he's the stupidest f***er. 10/10 for improvisation but I feel he scores a 1 on the whole safety part.
I wouldn't say he deserves everything he gets. Stupid people **** up all the time. In this case however, you gotta wonder what he was thinking. Reminds me of the gun being discharged by the pilot in the cockpit. Moron!

Thats actually a two birds with one bullet situation. A domestic hat-trick. I mean he gets the wife out of the way, has a cast iron excuse, and can finally install a satellite without being subjected to endless sex and the city reruns and demands to flick to America's next top model during the football game.

Depends on the gun. You can get a WWII era Moisin Nagant (Soviet standard rifle) for about $35.

Then again, I just spent $1470 on one today. (SIG 556)

There was the case last year of the guy using a shot gun to change the wheel on his car... he ended up injuring himself of course.

I saw a program on tv a few months back this american woman locked herself out of her house and decided to get back in by going down the chimney when she was half way down she became wedged the fire service had to come to rescue her by that time there was also a news channel filming the whole ordeal it took them 2 hours to get her out how stupid is that
