    Hi
We are putting together a promotion in Antrim on the 17th May and we are looking for fighters.
The show will be under the name Spartan Promotions. And will run every 2-3 months.
The show will be in our new custom built 16ft cage. Our cage is also available for rental. Our aim is to give fighters the chance to fight in a cage from the start of there career in a small venue. We are looking for fighters in all levels of competition from D class through A class. There will also be western Kickboxing and Muay Thai matches under WAKO international rules.
The plan is to have a few matches at each level leading up to a couple of full pro rules MMA superfights to round off the nite.
Any one who may be interested please reply to this thread. I will be in touch separatley to the coaches of the fighters we have in mind for the superfights.
    Cheers
    Martin Walker
    Antrim MMA/Red Dragon

Slightly off topic, but when you post your address like that it's likely to be picked up by bots crawling the web and used for spamming. Best to just PM it.

    Cant wait any longer...

LW A-Class PRO: Liegh Stewart (Red Dragon) Vs Dominic McConnell (Evolve)

Liegh is a ripped and athletic solid thai boxer with a tight ground game but is coming off a close loss to Kieth Norton in his first Pro fight at the recent cage of truth show.
Dominic is a quality boxer and a gutsy performer from Derry with a (1-1-0) record.
This is a great chance for these two men to start to make headway in an already stacked Lightwieght division.

A stand up WAR is on the cards!

LW:Martin "The Heat" Begley (Red Dragon) Vs Jonny "Smut" Smyth (Elite 400)

Martin is well known in Irish MMA and has fought the very best that Ireland has to offer. He is a vet of the EFR, Cage of Truth, Cage Rage Contenders and Cage Wars.

Jonny "Smut" Smyth, formerly of Chum Sut, now training in his own gym Elite 400, is a very capable wrestler that is always happy to stand and trade with the best. Jonny is also a Cage Wars vet where he has faced some of the cream of the UK and Europe.

    Should be a cracker!!

FW: Kevin "Iron Head" Carney (Red Dragon) Vs Paul "Redbull" Cowzer (Rush)

Kevin Carney is a very agressive and explosive fighter who will be looking for a good win to get himself back into the swing of things after a break from before Christmas.

Paul Cowzer is also very agressive and explosive and was involved in one of the best fights Irish MMA has seen when he and Fergus Wisdom (EFR) beat each other for three rounds in a four man Bantamwieght war.

These two guys have met before in the MMA League and this fight should be awesome!!

    Dont Blink....

FW: Jonny "The Kid" Doey (TFA) Vs Garry "Dumptruck" Morris (Rush)

Jonny Doey is a solid grappler who used to train out of EFR Gym in Antrim but has now started his own Gym; Taylorstown Fight Acadamy.

Garry Morris is an exciting talented young fighter with a strong stand-up game and a mean Judo background.

Classic grappler Vs Striker bout me thinks..

The Cage is brand spanking new. We had it custom built to our own specifications. It stands 7ft tall and each side is 8ft long. The mesh on the sides is vinyl covered steel. It is six sided and not the more common eight. We did this because at the minute the shows will be small affairs but the plan is to stage a much bigger show later with international opponents. When it comes to that show, because its custom built, we can get an extra two sides made thus making the cage much bigger. Then we will have a Cage that can be transformed into two Cages one for small shows and the bigger one for the "Big" show. It will be used this sunday for a show in belfast ran by MPR promotions and this is its first outing.
When i get it put together on sunday ill take pics and put them up here.

Interestingly enough, according to my calculations a 6-sided-ring (hexagon) with a side length of 8ft would result in a ~165 square foot fighting area (roughly). Adding another 2 sides converting it into a 8-sided-ring (octagon) it almost doubles the area to over 300 square feet!
