    Alright folks.
I've been thinking about getting a stompbox to add some percussion when I'm playing guitar. Does anyone have any experiences with these? i've checked the net and it seems that this crowd are one of the only ones around.

They're in Australia so I'm wondering if I'd have to pay import duty on one. They're only around €150.

So any info or comments welcome.
    Cheers.

Yeah, you'll most likely get stung for tax, why not build a basic one with a wooden box and a mic? N.C Lawlor uses one in whelans, and it sounds grand. Well it's the cheapo option.

A box and a piezo transducer would probably work too. Or better still, just get a midi trigger and and use it to fire off a sample of something great.:)

Annie Clark (St. Vincent) uses something like that when she plays solo, and it sounds fantastic.

I think the midi trigger is a bit more complicated than I'm looking for. I just want something with a bit of thump. I'm surprised that nowhere in Europe seems to sell stompboxes. I'd rather not build one as I'd probably make a balls of it and waste time and money. Does anyone know how much import duty would have to be paid on €150 box from Oz?
    Cheers guys.
