Liklihood of being pregnant after period

    Hi there,

I had to take the Morning after pill a few weeks back, and as expected, I got a 3 day period (normal for me) the following week.

I was just wondering what the liklihood is of being pregnant even after getting your period, have been feeling a bit 'off' lately. It's only been about 3 weeks since I took the tablet.

    Thanks for your replies.

The MAP is a huge dose of hormones taken all at once, and I wouldn't be surprised if you feel 'off' for a while afterwards. It throws the regular cycle out of whack for many women.

While you're probably not pregnant, I would suggest taking a home pregnancy test to put your mind at rest, or contacting your GP.

All the odds and likelihoods in the world wont reassure you as quickly and simply as a pregnancy test. And even being nervous about being pregnant can make you feel iffy!

Do a test. And good luck.

Would it not be too early to get reliable results?

Why dont you phone the doctor who prescribed your MAP, explain your worries and ask them if its too soon to take a test? I know it sounds like hassle to do that, but it might set your mind at rest.

If you had unprotected sex 3 weeks ago, then it isn't too early for a pregnancy test. You can get a positive result as early as 4 days before your period is due, depending on the brand. All of this is supposition, what ifs, maybes. Pop down to your local chemist and buy a test - you'll know within 2-3 minutes.

Its highly unlikely you are pregnant if you had your period. Go and see your GP who will do a test to put your mind at ease.
